Interviewing convicted sexual offenders

Working with sex offenders:  the good, the bad and the ugly This lecture will reflect on both the positives and negatives of conducting research with people who have committed sexual offences, using examples from a range of mixed-method studies that have primarily been conducted at HMP Whatton (one of the largest sex offender prisons in Europe). Studies will include the national evaluation of anti-libidinal medication with sexually preoccupied men who have committed sexual offences, research on religious groups within Whatton prison understanding how individuals reconcile their religious beliefs and sexual offending, and the evaluation of some rehabilitation projects.
